Lieutenant Colonel Stephane Lime

Future Studies Department - French Army Engineer School, French Army

After military training during my university studies, I joined the army as part of my national service in 1999 at the Engineering School where I served as a conscript for 2 years. After that, I was recruited as a sergeant in the 1st engineering regiment in Strasbourg. After three years, having passed the competitive examination for the inter-army military school in 2004, I completed my training as an engineer officer.

I joined the 19th engineer regiment in Besançon in 2007, where I served until 2018 successively as head of the crossing section, deputy officer and unit commander of the 22nd combat support company, and finally as officer in battalion headquarter.

Having passed the competitive entrance examination, I joined the Ecole de Guerre from 2018 to 2020.

I was then posted to the army's technical section (STAT) as a counter-mining, counter-IED, safeguard-protection and land robotics armament-programs officer from 2020 to 2024.

Since 1 July, I have been working as an officer in the ‘General Studies’ office at the Engineering School in Angers.

Over the course of my career, I have been deployed, either individually or with my subordinates, to French Guiana, Reunion Island, the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, Afghanistan and Mali.
