Randy Tymofichuk

Randy Tymofichuk serves as the Vice President and General Manager for Caterpillar Defense within Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division. In this role, Randy leads a global team for both US and International Caterpillar Defense and Governmental opportunities. His team supports governments and government contractors in providing solutions and adaptation of Caterpillar product offerings.
Prior to Caterpillar, Randy worked for BAE Systems as Director for two profit and loss businesses supporting large systems engineering activity for land based intercontinental ballistic missiles and supporting production activity for test range radars. Randy’s last position with BAE Systems was as the Vice President, Business Development Strategy and Growth, Air Force Solutions where he oversaw a portfolio valued at over $6.9B. Randy has worked in the defense industry since 2010.
Before his defense industry career, Randy served in the United States Air Force (USAF) for over 25 years as a Munitions and Maintenance Officer, retiring as a Colonel. He commanded at the Squadron level once and group level three times. His maintenance background included field level ICBM maintenance, conventional munitions maintenance and depot maintenance.
Randy graduated from Montana State University with a bachelor’s in political science and a master’s in public administration. He also holds master’s degrees in military operational art and science from Air Command and Staff College, and military strategic art and science from Air War College. He was a board member for the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development Coordinating Council and Davis Chamber of Commerce and Utah Defense Alliance. Randy served on the Association of Air Force Missileers as a Board Member and currently serves on the Air Force Museum Board of Trustees.
