Kirsten is a Senior Systems Engineer and globally recognised Subject Matter Expert in Artificial Intelligence. She leads AI research initiatives spanning various applications within the Defence Sector, primarily in the Air and Surface domains. Her groundbreaking work earned her recognition as a Finalist in the 2022 Top 50 Women in Engineering: Inventors and Innovators, for her work on a prototype AI-based weapon management aid. Beyond technical proficiency in AI development, Kirsten is well-known for her expertise in broader AI implications, including ethics and safety. She has delivered keynote presentations at international, UK MOD, and IET conferences, shedding light on these critical topics.

As Chair of the IET AI Technical Network committee, Kirsten spearheads a global initiative to foster AI growth by challenging conventional business and societal approaches, and demystifying AI through knowledge sharing. Committed to knowledge sharing and mentorship, Kirsten also serves as an active STEM Ambassador, inspiring the next generation in engineering and technology.
