Attack Helicopter & Air-to-Land Integration, Joint Air Power Competence Centre

Lieutenant Colonel Emiliano PELLEGRINI was commissioned in the Italian Army in 1990, when he was admitted to the Italian Army Military Academy. After the formation period he joined the Italian Army Aviation and then assigned to 5th Attack Helicopter Regiment “RIGEL” where served as Squadron Commander and Operations Officer.


During this period, he was qualified as Attack helicopter pilot with NVG (Night Vision Googles) and HIRNS (Helicopter Infrared Navigation System) licence. He has flown fixed wing SF-260, scout helicopter AgustaBell-206, multirole helicopter AgustaBell-205, as well as the AgustaWestland A-129 “Mangusta” attack helicopter.


From 2012 to 2016 was Commander of 34 Helicopters Group Squadron “TORO” and Base Commander.


After this Command period, he had been assigned to NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy (NRDC-ITA) in G3-AIR Branch both as planning and operation Officer.


He has been deployed in several abroad exercises and missions to the north of Europe to Middle East (Poland, Iraq, Geordan, Afghanistan).


He is currently stationed at the JAPCC as the Attack Helicopter on Air-Land Operations Planning and Integration, Airborne, and Airmobile Operations SME (Subject Matter Expert) in the Combat Air Branch.
