Chris Eyre is fortunate to have enjoyed a broad range of rewarding operational, staff and command roles that have seen him assigned around the World. Early appointments included a wide variety of Regimental Duty appointments for Close Support and General Support engineering. This included Troop Command, Operations Officer and Adjutant roles that ranged from supporting close support armoured engineering to engineering support during ‘normalisation’ in Northern Ireland and construction tours to Kenya. Sub-Unit Command of 52 Armoured Engineer Squadron was dominated by re-rolling the Squadron into a Route Proving and Clearance Squadron (RP&C) (TALISMAN) for deployment on Operation HERRICK 13 to Afghanistan. Training appointments have included Officer Commanding the TALISMAN Training Advisory Team and SO2 Engineers at the British Army Training Unit Suffield, Canada. Staff Appointments have included the Capability and Acquisition area with appointments as In-Service Support Managers, Requirements Manager and Capability Manager for Support INFORM capabilities under Director Capability UK Strategic Command. Defence Engagement appointments included a 2 year exchange with the US Army at their Joint Modernisation Command as Chief of Multinational Interoperability. He assumed the role of Deputy Director/Chief of Staff Military Engineering Centre of Excellence, Ingolstadt, Germany in September 2021. He has deployed on operations to Kosovo, Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan and exercises around the world. He holds a Masters Degree in Programme and Project Management. He is married to Miki and they have 2 children Isaac and Abigail. He is a keen skier and now enjoys rugby from the Grandstand.
