Andrew Killey
Andrew Killey is a UK Ministry of Defence Civil Servant with a background as an RAF logistician with Joint staff experience.
Andy joined the UK Royal Air Force in 1984 and, following graduation from Bristol University and Initial Officer Training at RAF Cranwell, he undertook Fast Jet Flying Training in the United States and the UK and was awarded his wings in July 1990. In 1991 he transferred to the RAF Logistics Branch and served as a Logistics Officer on operations in Saudi Arabia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan. A graduate of the Advanced Command and Staff College and Kings College London MA programme, Andy commanded No 1 Air Mobility Wing supporting Ops TELIC and HERRICK. On promotion to Group Captain he was appointed as Head of Defence Fuels & Food Services and his last tour in the Service was as Head of Defence Strategic Movements in Defence Supply Chain Operations and Movements. On retirement Andy joined the MOD Civil Service and is now head of the UK Defence Fuel Transformation project. During the UK COVID emergency, Andy commanded the operation to supply ventilator to UK hospitals. He is a Trustee of the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund charity and Chair of the Bristol University Air Squadron Association. Andy has 3 Masters degrees, a Private Pilots License and is a qualified electrician. He is married to Louise, has two grown up children, Benjamin (33) and Emma (26), lives in Shropshire and lists his interests as flying, classic cars, equestrianism, long distance running and domestic DIY,
